Have you ever wanted to swim with a dolphin? It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a very long time and finally got the opportunity during a recent trip to Grand Cayman.
We booked a tour with Dolphin Cove which included the dolphin swim as well as a visit to Stingray City to swim with the stingrays. I was very excited because both would be new experiences for me.
Dolphins are such beautiful creatures and extremely smart. Watching them interact with their trainer, you can certainly see the high level of intelligence of these amazing mammals. Seeing a dolphin swim through the water with elegant grace and speed make them a joy to watch, but actually swimming with a dolphin gets you up close and personal with these amazing friends from the sea.
Each operator is different, but most will allow you to touch and kiss the dolphin, get pictures together, and either be propelled through the water as they push the soles of your feet or pulled through the water while holding onto their fins.
Swimming with a dolphin is a very neat and unique experience. I highly recommended trying it if you ever get the chance. You can find Dolphin encounters at a number of resort destinations throughout the world.
